Amelia Island Adventure Tours

Explore the marsh creeks on a stand-up paddleboard. Tours last approximately 1.5 hours depending on the tides. Introductory paddle lessons given at the start of each tour tour. Minimum age is 10 years old. Introductory paddleboarding lesson provided.

Experience the natural beauty of the island by kayak. You will learn about the birds, fish and animals that flourish in the salt marsh while you explore the island. Kayak tours last approximately 1.5 hours. Minimum age is 8 years old. Ages 8-12 are required to paddle with an adult; 13 years or older can paddle alone. Limited tandem kayaks available. Introductory kayaking lesson provided.

• Eco Bike Hike | Join our naturalists as they lead you on an exploration on the resort's bike paths. Bikes are included during tour. Ages 6 and up.
• Birds of Amelia | Explore the diversity of species on Amelia Island. Whether an experienced birder or a novice, Amelia’s list of bird species is sure to entice you. Binoculars are included during tour.
• Ecology of Amelia | On this Island Hopper tour, visit the 3 ecosystems of a barrier island. Learn about the flora and fauna of the surrounding local area, from the sandy dunes and tidal salt marsh, to the lush forest of the property. Limited availability.

Each tour is approximately one hour. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for all tours.

• Crab Grab | Learn about our marsh ecosystem and its inhabitants including invertebrates, fish, and shrimp all while trying to capture the elusive Blue Crab. You will also discover interesting facts about the Native Americans that inhabited the island of Amelia many years ago. Ages 4 and up. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Shark Tooth Discovery | Explore our beaches while learning about its natural treasures. Learn facts about the many different shells, the plentiful sharks’ teeth, and the best techniques to find teeth. Make your very own personalized shark’s tooth necklace while learning about these fascinating creatures. Ages 4 and up.
• Adult Shark Tooth Discovery | Join a naturalist on our beach to find out more about sharks and learn tips on the best way to hunt for teeth! Tours include a shark guide and a bag for collecting teeth. Ages 13 and up. Call 904.321.5082 to book.
• Snake Discovery | Get up close and personal with the Nature Center’s most slithery residents. Call 904.321.5082 to book.
• Sea Turtle Discovery | Discover the precious sea turtle and make a conservation bracelet. Only offered May-October.
• Junior Naturalist | Help a naturalist complete their duties. Feed animals, clean tanks and lead tours. Available with pre-registration 24 hours in advance. Call 904.321.5082 to book.

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Learn how to bait a hook, make a cast and remove a fish from the hook during this one hour introductory level class. All tackle and bait is provided. Ages 4 and up.

Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa's Aury Island contain a variety of brim, bass and catfish. A license is not required to fish these private freshwater ponds while practicing a catch and release policy.
Walker's Landing and some of the brackish water lagoons off the marsh feature tarpon, redfish, trout, flounder and many more. A Florida fishing license is required to fish these areas. Please visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website to buy a license.

Know how to fish? You can rent poles from the Nature Center! Rentals are for on-property guests only.

Coached orientation is followed by a tour along our novice-level paths to Drummond Point Park or Walker's Landing. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Full orientation prior to each tour. All tours are guided with one coach per four riders with a maximum of eight guests per tour. Each tour lasts 1.5 hours. Must be 8 years old and 65 pounds. Ages 8-15 are considered children. One guide is provided per five riders. A $25 cancellation fee applies for canceling within 4 hours of tour. Introductory Segway™ lesson provided.
